- Founder’s Bio -

Shrayasi, the co-founder of Sutran, holds a post-graduation in Psychology and brings years of experience across hospitals, research, and the corporate world. Yet, she always felt a desire to create something of her own — a space where she could make a tangible impact and bring her vision to life.

Shrayasi has always believed in the uniqueness of every individual, and throughout her professional journey, she discovered the profound importance of self-expression. For her, the saree was once just her mother’s attire, a tradition she admired but never thought deeply about. That changed when she realized that a saree tells a story — it speaks of a person’s journey, from their daily life to boardroom meetings, celebrations, and milestones. The saree is more than fabric; it is identity, confidence, and narrative woven into every thread.

She believes the beauty and elegance of a saree can never be replaced, so why not make it a canvas for self-expression? To her, every saree captures a powerful journey — from the weavers who bring it to life, to the designers who craft it, to the wearer who embraces it, and the buyer who chooses it to express themselves. This journey reflects not just a product, but a story of connection, creativity, and individuality.

The “S” in Sutran carries a part of her — her story, her vision, and her belief that fashion should empower, inspire, and evolve alongside the person wearing it.

Shrayasi saw a problem in the way sarees were traditionally approached — often limited to occasions or conforming to expectations, leaving people feeling disconnected from how they truly want to express themselves. She founded Sutran to change that — to create sarees that empower, inspire, and let every wearer express their own story with confidence. Every collection is designed to bridge tradition and individuality, making the saree not just attire, but an experience that celebrates personal expression.

“Every saree carries a story — of the people who create it, the journeys it witnesses, and the confidence it inspires in the person who wears it.”

Neha, the co-founder of Sutran, holds an MBA and spent years navigating the corporate world. She always admired sarees but used to think they were only for special occasions — beautiful, yet often restrictive and difficult to wear comfortably. She wanted something different: sarees that could blend style with ease, comfort with confidence, and elegance with everyday life.

Neha believes that a saree should celebrate joy, freedom, and self-expression — something you can move, work, laugh, and live in without compromise. She used to believe that sarees were for special occasions, and those occasions called for heavy, elaborate sarees. She co-founded Sutran to change that — to create sarees that are effortless to wear, stylish, and versatile, allowing people to feel comfortable, confident, and celebrated in every moment of their day.

The “N” in Sutran carries a part of her — her love for effortless style, her attention to detail, and her belief that fashion should feel joyful, practical, and empowering for the wearer.

For Neha, every saree is a combination of comfort, style, and personality. She ensures that every collection is designed with easygoing elegance, balancing thoughtful fabric choices, draping ease, and timeless style. Her attention to detail ensures that each saree is not only beautiful but designed to make the wearer feel empowered and enjoy every moment of wearing it. Sutran becomes more than clothing — it’s a tool for joy, self-expression, and effortless style, designed for the way people really live today.

Neha also believes in creating experiences, not just products. From choosing the perfect fabric to designing practical yet elegant drapes, she ensures every piece connects with the wearer and adds confidence and comfort to their daily life.

“Sutran is about living beautifully, moving freely, and wearing confidence in every drape.”
