Why Sutran Exists

Saree culture hasn’t kept up with the people who actually wear it. And Sutran was born out of one simple, slightly inconvenient truth: for generations, the saree has been treated like some delicate relic—handled with reverence, wrapped in rules, and gatekept by “how it’s always been done.” Beautiful, yes, but a little confusing also, yes. So we decided to stop tiptoeing around that notion and start rewriting it.

The Founders

The S in Sutran is Shrayasi, and the N is Neha—two co-founders who have poured their hearts into this vision. Together, they are bringing this thought to life, with the support of everyone who believes that sarees should celebrate individuality.
